The Jigawa State House of Assembly has started considering a bill to compel the state government to take over the intervention against malnutrition currently being implemented in 12 local government areas when the development partners handling the project pull out.
The deputy speaker of the state Assembly, Ahmed Garba Maikudi, said at a joint quarterly review meeting with state legislators, representatives of ministries, departments and agencies, civil society organizations and the media organized by a development partner, Action Against Hunger in Kano, that it was only proper to have a law that would compel government to continue with the project.
