Zamfara State House of Assembly is working towards making laws that will bring an end to the menace kidnappings, cattle rustling and other crimes in the state.
Speaking at the on-going retreat for Zamfara State royal fathers in Kaduna, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alh Sanusi Garba Rikiji, regretted that crime is still thriving despite huge investment of the state government in security.
He said as members of the assembly were working closely with the executive to see how the issue of rustling, kidnapping and banditry would be brought to an end.
Rikiji faulted Senator Kabiru Marafa who recently alleged that the state government has done nothing to end the menace.
While commending the Council of Chiefs in organising the retreat, the speaker thanked the Federal Government for deploying 1,000 troops to the state to flush out the insurgents.
