The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the legislators, who were on projects monitoring and evaluation tour of the local government, queried the manner in which the N54.9 million project was being handled.

They expressed displeasure over claims by the contractor that the job had attained 60 per cent completion after collecting N30 million when only about 30 per cent had been done.

The lawmakers who queried the slow pace of work on the road, summoned the representative of the firm to appear before the House at its plenary sitting on Monday in Ogori-Magongo.

Chairman of the council, Mr Samsom Bako, also expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work and appealed to the assembly to call the contractor to order, to enable a timely completion of the job.

NAN reports that the lawmakers also inspected the construction of the N15 million Police Type II Station in Adogo, the Town Hall and Lock-Up shops among other on-going projects.

Commenting on their overall assessment of the projects, Majority Leader of the House, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad said, “The overwhelming impression of the members is that they are not satisfied with the work done.”

Refering to the contractor that was summoned, Adamu said, “We are going to make sure he carry out his contractual agreement, we are going to help the chairman by making the corpse to walk.”
