The Plateau State House of Assembly on Friday resumed plenary after the recent removal of the Speaker, Nuhu Abok Ayuba, and his replacement with Yakubu Sanda.
Abok was removed by 16 out of the 24 members of the House, but since then, the House was yet to hold plenary in the chambers due to the ensuing crisis.

The plenary, presided over by the new Speaker, Yakubu Sanda, had 11 lawmakers in attendance.
He commenced the legislative business of the day with the reading of Governor Simon Lalong’s letter seeking for screening and confirmation of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Board members.
However, the Majority Leader, Nanlong Daniel, said the legislative chamber was not conducive to operate due the recent destruction at the assembly.
The Majority Leader moved that the legislative chamber at the Government House be used as annex for legislative businesses until the things destroyed in the House of Assembly complex are fixed.
Speaker then moved for adjournment of plenary.
