Assembly, ministry partner to shut down illegal private schools

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly said that it will partner the state ministry of education to close illegal private schools in order to improve on the standard of education.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, made this known yesterday when the state commissioner of education appeared before its committee to defend her 2017 budget.

He said, during oversight, the assembly will know schools that meet required standard and those that don’t and we will not hesitate to shut down any private schools that did not measure up.

Earlier, the state commissioner of education, Hajiya Ramatu Abubakar, said that the government will continue to key into positive education policies to improve standards.
