The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has commenced the construction of a 500-capacity lecture theatre and wash facilities at Adamawa State University, Mubi.

This initiative follows the university’s nomination for the ASR Africa Tertiary Education Grant Scheme (TEGS) by the ASR Africa Board of Directors.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, the acting vice chancellor of the university, Dr Stephen A. Lagu, expressed gratitude to the Chairman of BUA Group and ASR Africa, Abdul Samad Rabiu, for his generous support.

Dr Lagu noted that the donation would address infrastructure needs at the university’s new campus and promote better sanitation and hygiene.

He highlighted that the selection of the 500-seat lecture theatre and four boreholes across the campus was made through a collaborative process between university stakeholders and the ASR Africa team.

Managing Director and CEO of ASR Africa, Dr Ubon Udoh, congratulated the university on its nomination, emphasising the thorough selection process.

He pointed out that the university’s high-quality educational standards and the achievements of its graduates were key factors in their selection.

He asked the university community to maintain the new facilities, emphasising ASR Africa’s role in promoting education and improving African lives.
