The Sokoto Police Command has denied killing three members of the Shi’ite group during their Ashura procession held on Thursday.

A statement issued Friday by the spokesman of the command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, noted that the trending story on social media that its men killed three shi’ite members was not true.

“The command wishes to debunk the story and views it as inaccurate and an attempt by some mischief makers to create chaos in the mind of the general public,” the statement said.
