Asaba 2018: CAA delegates arrives Nigeria

Ahead of the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships billed to take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State from August 1 to 5, some officials of the Confederation of African Athletics, CAA arrived Nigeria for inspection and other logistics.

The delegation was led by the Chief Executive Officer of the African Athletics body, Lamine Faty and a member of IAAF Technical Commission cum CAA’s technical Director, Gungaram Gerard Vivian.

According to the itinerary released by the head of media and publicity, Olukayode Thomas, the CAA delegates who arrived Nigeria on Friday moved from Warri to Ozoro where they watched the finals of the Awoture Elaye U14 and 16 Athletics Championships.

At the final of the championship in Ozoro, the CAA delegates presented medals and certificates to outstanding athletes proceeding to Asaba where they met with the local organising committee (LOC) members for the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships.

On Sunday, the delegates will inspect the facilities on ground and then have a meeting with top Delta State government officials.
