The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Kuje Area Council have donated 55 cartons of Indomie noodles to the council for onward distribution to the poor.

The Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) in the area, Infinite Eleukezi, while presenting the donation on behalf of the corps members at the council secretariat yesterday, said the gesture was to assist the vulnerable groups that are under hardship over the lockdown.

He said the corps members serving in the council found it necessary to support the council in its fight against the new COVID-19 pandemic.

He said they would continue to partner with the FCT administration and the council towards public enlightenment to see the end of the pandemic.

Also speaking, Kuje Zonal Inspector of the NYSC, Mr Elisha Musa, called on other organisations and individuals to also contribute towards combating the coronavirus pandemic, saying no one was safe from the deadly disease.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the council chairman, Sunday Zaka, who is the chairman of palliatives distribution committee in the area, thanked the NYSC members for the donation.

He said there was no better time for such philanthropy than now that the world, including Nigeria, was going into recession.
