Arsenal sign Sada, 9-year-old football prodigy from Kaduna

English Premier League giants, Arsenal have signed Munir Sada, a nine-year-old football prodigy from Zaria, in Kaduna State.

The news that the young football sensation has joined Arsenal Football Kid Academy in London has brought so much excitement to Nigerian football fans, particularly the teeming fans of the club.

Like his compatriot, Alex Iwobi, who started his career at the club, Sada will start with the kids where he is expected to blossom into a super star like the legendary Kanu Nwankwo who made a name playing for Arsenal.

The big news about the teenager was made public on social media by a top official of Kaduna State government.

This was followed by pictures and Arsenal documents which showed how the deal was signed and sealed.

Sada who donned the Arsenal number 9 jersey was accompanied by his mother to do the signing.

Meanwhile, in his reaction to Sada’s signing by Arsenal, Kaduna born former Super Eagles star, Garba Lawal told Daily Trust Saturday that it was a welcome development.

He said “I believe it is a good step for the boy. This is the right time for him to learn how to play football. We never had such opportunities. We learnt how to play football in the streets but things have changed now.

“Our parents were not buoyant enough to send us to academies, even if they existed.  We were lucky that we went far.

“So the young boy should be focused and learn the basics. He is just nine years old so he has a long way to go.

“I believe he is at the right place. And for a big club like Arsenal to sign him, it means he is exceptionally good. It is good for him to start early. I wish him good luck,” said Lawal.
