A 28-year-old burglar, arrested by members of a vigilante group at the Igando area of Lagos, begged for food from those who arrested him.
The suspect, Salish Sanni, was arrested at the weekend while attempting to burgle some shops along Akesan Road.

The suspect had sneaked into the area around 3 am and successfully broken into two shops and was about to enter the third shop when he was sighted by a member of the vigilante contracted to secure the area.
The vigilante man drew the attention of others and they waited for the suspect to emerge from the shop he had entered with his loot.
He was arrested by the group, which tied his hands and legs and kept him in the middle of the road.
Around 9 am, the suspect, was said to have begged his captors for food, saying: “I have not eaten anything since yesterday.”
The vigilante members took pity on him as they offered him a loaf of bread and a soft drink.
He was consequently handed over to the police at Igando.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect would be charged to court after the investigation.
