Police arrest suspected cultist over murder

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a suspected member of a secret cult, Damilola Olatunji (22), over alleged murder and unlawful possession of firearms in Osogbo.

The command’s spokesman, Yemisi Opalola, said items recovered from the suspect included four pump action guns, three Beretta guns, one locally made pistol, one knife, 10 cutlasses and 33 cartridges.

In an interview, the suspect said, “I’m the armourer for the group. Whenever we have an operation, I would receive directive from Adigun, on the instruction of our leader, Emir, to distribute guns to our fighters.”
