The Nigerian Army says it is in full support of the ongoing efforts being made by Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum, to relocate all the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state back to their ancestral homes.
Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, in a statement described Zulum’s efforts as “commendable and the right step in the desired direction”, adding that it would leave no stone unturned to ensure the successful actualization of the governor’s desire.
“As a patriotic and key agency in the war on terror in the North East Nigeria, the NA will continue to do everything possible to ensure the successful actualization of the governor’s desire and hereby declares its unflinching commitment to the relocation of the Internally Displaced Persons to their original abodes, the statement read.
The governor, who was on his way to Baga from Maiduguri, the state capital, had been attacked two times in a week by suspected members of Boko Haram.
The twin attacks left no fewer than 30 security operatives dead.
