Army targets 3,000 patients for free treatment in Sokoto

The Nigerian Army is providing free medical care to 3000 patients in Sokoto State.
The medical outreach is being conducted at Sifawa, the hometown of Chief of Army Staff, Major General Faruk Yahya in Bodinga Local Government as well as in Dange Shuni Local Government areas simultaneously.
Flagging off the exercise in Sifawa on Monday, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Major General Usman Yusuf said the exercise was part of the activities marking the Nigerian Army Day celebration in the state.
He added that it was meant to boost army-civil relationship, saying it was only when the host communities were healthy that they could provide them with useful intelligence that would help them succeed in their theatre operations.
“We will ensure you get the best medication. We have enough drugs and personnel to attend to you.
” I, therefore, employ you to be patient and follow all the laid down rules and regulations. I assure you you will all be attended to before the end of the 2-day exercise,” the GOC who was represented by the Garrison Commander, Ralph Nnebeife said.
The District head of Sifawa, Alhaji Buhari, while applauding the army for their efforts to restore peace in the country, however, prayed God to help them succeed in their various operations.
The leading medical doctor, Major Nendangtok Dikkol, said they would treat all common ailments, including blood screening, eye treatment and surgeries.
