Army promotes hygiene in Niger

The 18 Brigade of the Nigerian Army (NA), on Thursday, embarked on a campaign for the promotion of environmental hygiene in communities in Niger State to promote healthy living.

The campaign was carried through sanitation at the Bida Main Market with officers and men of the brigade participating.

The brigade also carried out a free medical outreach, as well as visitation to schools, to encourage young Nigerians on patriotism.

The Brigade Commander of Litani Barracks, Bida, Brigadier General Taye Ahmed, underscored the importance of a healthy society to environmental cleanness, urging residents to embrace good hygiene at all times, especially with the threat of cholera to the nation’s health system.

He said the army was always committed to civil military operations to boost the relationship between the civil public and the security outfit.

City & Crime reports that the soldiers were supported by the police civil defence, NDLEA, FRSC and the Niger State Environmental Protection Agency.
