The Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Major- General Bola Koleoso, said at a media briefing in Abuja that the 2013 Nigerian Army Day Celebrations (NADCEL) will hold between June 28 and July 6.
He said this year’s NADCEL coincides with the 150 years of the army, which was formed by British colonial officers in 1863.
Prayers were said during the Jum’at service at Mogadishu Cantonment Mosque yesterday, while interdenominational church service will hold tomorrow in the Cantonment’s Protestant Church.
Koleoso said that army medical personnel will offer free medical services to locals in Dukpa, Gwagwalada Abuja on July 3, while the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association will distribute welfare items to orphanages as well as hospitals in Abuja on July 5.
A combat and equipment display march past will hold on July 6, during which paratroopers and sniffer dogs will show their talents.
