The Nigerian Army troops of 177 Guards Battalion have arrested an alleged spiritual head of an armed militia in Nassarawa State.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, in a statement gave the name of the suspect as Angulu Idaku. He said the troops also destroyed some camps of the militia at Ugya village in Toto Local Government Area of the state.

He added that the troops recovered weapons from the militia which included seven locally made guns, 12 cartridges, 200 rounds of 7.62MM special ammunition, 76 rounds of 7.62MM NATO special ammunition and four knives.

Other items recovered were 15 cutlasses, six mobile phones, one DSTV decoder and four solar panel sets. 

He called on the public to report any suspicious activities to security agents.
