Daily Trust gathered that the attack caused by a tussle on who should ascend the throne after the king of the community was carried out in the early hours of Friday during a meeting of traditional heads of the community to elect a new king.
Sources within the community claimed the attack was allegedly sponsored by some prominent indigenes among who were the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on News Media, John Idumange, and aide to the state Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah.
However, other accounts claimed the attack was carried out by youth dressed in military and police uniforms while men of the Joint Military Task Force were watching.
In an on-line statement issued yesterday by the embattled regent and chairman of the Chiefs Council of the Agrisaba community Chief Sampson Awudul he alleged that the attack was sponsored by some persons who used their closeness to power within the state to harass and intimidate the chiefs in their  quest to foist a new leadership on the community.
He accused the security operatives of taking sides and watching when the custom of the people was being ‘bastardised.’
