She said late Yusuf, along with 16 other corps members, who completed the 2020 Batch “B” Stream 1B orientation programme at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State, on December 22, 2020, boarded vehicles heading towards the northern part of the country.
She said they were accosted by a gang of armed robbers along the Jere-Abuja road, who shot sporadically, leading to the death of Bomoi Suleiman Yusuf.
Condoling the family of the deceased, she faulted the reports that 16 corps members were kidnapped along Kaduna road.
“The director-general wishes to admonish all corps members to at all times adhere strictly to the safety guidelines issued to them from time to time, which particularly frowns at night travels,” she said.
