Police in Kano have confirmed the death of a 60-year-old man, Sabo Abdullahi from the injuries he sustained during an armed robbery attack in his residence at Ajingi last Saturday.
Spokesman of the police command in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa who confirmed the incident said the armed robbers numbering five stormed the residence of the late victim, asking for his son, Gambo Abdullahi who was said to have returned from the market in Wudil,
He said the armed robbers came to the house around 1:30 am and started knocking the door.
He said when the victim opened the door, the armed robbers wielding different forms of weapons demanded for his son Gambo Sabo from where an argument ensued in the process of which Abdullahi was grievously stabbed.
Kiyawa said, the victim was rushed to the hospital by the police where he died while receiving treatment.
He said efforts are being intensified using community policing strategies with a view to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime, urging the public to always cooperate with the police by sharing relevant information in their bid to make the society habitable for all.
