An armed robbery suspect, whose identity was yet to be ascertained, was killed on Thursday by an angry mob in Egor Local Government Area of Edo state.
It was gathered that the suspect, a member of a four-man armed robbery gang, on Wednesday night broke into a premise along the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Road in Ugbowo Quarters in Egor Local Government.

The suspect was reportedly lynched when youths in the area chased the gang and captured him after a botched robbery operation in the locality.
He was reportedly beaten severely. A local vigilante group, however, saved him from being set ablaze.
It was learnt that the suspect later died due to the injuries he sustained from the beating.
When contacted, police spokesperson in the state, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was not aware of the incident, but promised to get back to our reporter after getting the details.
