Armed bandits killed four persons and kidnapped 18 others last month in Zuru emirate of Kebbi State.
The chairman of sociocultural organisation from the emirate, Ibakkana Association Zuru Emirate (IAZE), Sheik A. G Mikail, made this known while speaking with journalists in Birnin Kebbi, appealing to authorities to secure the localities against the bandits.
“On the 25 September, 2020, armed bandits attacked and killed one person in Akawo, two in Yar Kasuwa.
“The bandits also kidnapped five people, all in Fakai local government area of Kebbi State.
“In Zuru local government area, three were kidnapped in Senchi and one in Udun-kudu villages while in Danko Wasagu local government area, one was killed and nine kidnapped.
“We are, therefore, appealing to the authorities concerned to secure us against the armed bandits as well as maintain the initial arrangement reached at Zuru town hall meeting,” he said.
