The Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s initiative for a 30-day National Youth Conference, aimed at uniting young people across Nigeria to address pressing issues such as education, employment, innovation, security and social justice.
The group said it believes this will empower the youth to actively participate in nation-building.
In a statement by ATT Convener, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, the organisation expressed satisfaction with the plan to consult with youth representatives in designing the conference’s structure and selecting delegates.
It thereafter urged Northern youths to seize this opportunity to participate, while also indicating that it has already started preparing an agenda to support their involvement in the event.

Additionally, ATT backed the former Ogun State governor, Segun Osoba’s call for Tinubu to complete two terms in office, affirming that Tinubu’s administration would perform even better in its second term.
The think tank also called for an extension of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) leadership under Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, citing the agency’s significant contribution to economic growth through revenue generation.
ATT praised Tinubu’s recent Independence Day speech, where he outlined the government’s youth-centric initiatives, including the 3 million Technical Talents programme and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Tinubu emphasised the importance of engaging young people in shaping Nigeria’s future, stating, “We lead today with the future we wish to bequeath to our children in focus.”
He reiterated that the recommendations from the youth conference would be seriously considered and implemented to build a more inclusive, prosperous Nigeria. Tinubu encouraged all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts to create opportunities for the nation’s youth and promote shared success.
