The president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, have advocated responsible driving on Nigerian roads.
They spoke in Abuja on Thursday at the 10th anniversary of the road safety advocacy known as Kwapda’as Road Safety Demand Foundation.

The foundation was set up in memory of the late son of the president of the Court of Appeal, Kwapda’as Rangna’an Samson Dongban, who was killed in 2011 by a hit-and-run driver.
Justice Dongban-Mensem advised Nigerians to embark on road traffic training and be responsible while driving.
“We should help one another; place a key road safety demand on yourself,” she added.
Bello flayed the attitude of some Nigerians at accident scenes.
He said some were more concerned with taking and uploading pictures rather than seek urgent medical attention for victims.
“My association with the Federal Road Safety Corps, this particular NGO and a few other organisations have made me realise that it is not good roads prevent road accidents. In most of the far I go, all the research point to he human factor,” he said.
