The Gombe state Sports Commission (GSSC) has held a solidarity walk in support of governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for supporting sports activities in Gombe.
While kickstarting the rally from the APC Square, the Chairman, Gombe State Sports Commission, Mr. Olare Daniel Terry, said the Commission had organised the rally to support the Governor for supporting activities which led Gombe State team to win in their home and away matches.
Mr. Terry said the solidarity walk was meant to tell the world that Governor Inuwa was a sport-loving governor, who was promoting sports in the state.
He used the medium to call on players to shun drug abuse, because it tarnished their image.

In the mean time, the Commander, Nigeria Drugs Laws and Enforcement Agency NDLEA. Mrs Ekaete Silvia E, who was represented by the Principal Staff Officer, Drugs Demand Reduction, Mr. Zakari Ya’u Sambo, said no player could excel if he engaged in drugs.
Mrs Ekaete, said youths were the future of tomorrow and as such should shun drugs, because it could lead people to die young.
Similarly, the Director of Sports, Gombe State, Mr. Musa Sale Jarmai, commended Governor Inuwa for his support and urged the people of Gombe to re-elect him for a second term, so that he could further develop the state excellently.
