It was gathered that the apprentice, who was learning hair dressing in a salon in the area, was plaiting her customer’s hair when she craftily abandoned her and disappeared with the baby.
The mother of the baby, Mrs. Rose Agom, said the apprentice, whose name and address were unknown, had been fond of carrying the baby whenever she went to do her hair.
She said: “On Friday, the apprentice asked for my baby and I told her he was sleeping. She then requested for a wrapper to strap the baby on her back, I gave her the wrapper and she used it to carry the baby.
“While I was inside preparing food, the woman, whose hair the apprentice was plaiting, ran to me and said she can’t find the apprentice, adding that she (apprentice) told her she wanted to pick someone, who also wanted to plait hair, at L.E.A Primary School, Angwan Dodo, close to the shop.”
City News learnt that when Mrs Agom requested for the apprentice’s mobile number, the shop owner, said she knew neither the phone number nor the address of the missing apprentice.
It was learnt that the shop owner has been arrested and detained at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Gwagwalada.
When City News visited the station, the Divisional Police Officer was not around but a police source at the station, confirmed the incident, informing that the matter is under investigation.
