The CEO of Nordica fertility clinic, Dr Abayomi Ajayi, has urged the incoming President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governors-elect to appoint administrators in place of Politicians and Professors to head public offices.
He said this on Tuesday at the Hospital’s head office in Lagos during a press conference announcing the 20th anniversary ceremony of Nordica Fertility as well as the unveiling of the anniversary logo.
“If the next administration want the country to run properly, the President-elect should get renowned administrators to work with, not Politicians or Professors. Nigeria is the only place where a Professor is selected to head a ministry or Agency instead of an administrator. What experience is the Professor bringing to the table in the first place? Nigeria is blessed with a lot of people who have done tremendously well. If he doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes of past leaders, he should get good hands.
“The position of a Minister is the position of an administrator not that of an academic. It is better when the administrator also knows the industry.”
In his advice, he said the President-elect should endeavour to listen to people with the best ideas and take the best position thereafter. Citing the case of former U.S.A. President Barrack Obama who usually invite best hands, listen to them and make a decision thereafter.
He noted that in the last 20 years, there has been an improvement in Fertility management in Nigeria in the areas of innovative solutions, technology, techniques and skills.
“For 20 years, we have been able to introduce various male factor treatments, introduce a successful egg freezing facility, co-found the Oncofertility Specialist Association Nigeria, invest in first non-invasive solution for fibroid management on the West African sub region, among other achievements,” Ajayi said.
