Deputy National President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration, Alhaji Umar Iya Gulak, has called on the federal government to appoint experts to lead specialised institutions to ensure efficient and effective management.
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, Gulak expressed concerns over the appointment of a pharmacologist to head the Federal University of Transport Technology.
He explained the importance of appointing professionals in relevant fields to manage specialized institutions, such as engineering for engineering-related jobs and medically trained personnel for medical institutions.
He emphasised the need for this principle to be applied across all sectors, including education and aviation.
Gulak called for the revocation of the 2015 Power Purchase Agreement to address alleged non-performance and the resultant hardship experienced by consumers despite the billions of naira spent to improve the sector.
He prayed for the successful inauguration of the incoming administration of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and advised opposition politicians to avoid actions that might undermine the country.
