The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Gombe State, has asked Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje to apologise to the party over the political clash when alleged “political thugs” attacked his convoy four weeks ago.

The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr Moses Kyari, had called on the senator to tender a public apology to members of the APC in the state after the clash.

Rising from an emergency meeting held in Pindiga town on Sunday, the Chairman of Kashere Ward, Muhammad Samaila Kashere, said the senator should apologise within two weeks or risk sanction from the party.

He said at the end of four weeks ultimatum earlier given to Senator Goje to apologise, the party has decided to extend it by another two weeks, “failure of which may result [to a] penalty, suspension or even expulsion from the APC.”

Samaila, who addressed newsmen at the end of the meeting alongside the chairmen of Tumu and Pindiga wards, added that the party is solidly behind Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as leader of the APC in the state.

When contacted, aides of Senator Goje who spoke under condition of anonymity, said they are not aware of any meeting by the APC ward executives in Pindiga town.

“I was in Pindiga throughout the day and was not aware of any purported meeting by the party executives where the said decision was reached by the APC members,” one of the aides said.
