The management of the largest container terminal in Nigeria, APM Terminal, has said the timely completion of the standard gauge rail will bring about an increase in the movement of cargos to the Northern parts of the country.
It noted that though the narrow gauge rail line from Lagos to Kano was still functioning, but that with the addition of standard gauge it means that Northern-bound cargoes would move faster.
The Terminal Manager, APM Terminals, Apapa, Steen Knudsen, made this disclosure after taking journalists on a guided tour of AMPT facilities in the Apapa Port.
