The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has elected a 28-member new National Working Committee (NWC) that will pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years.
The party, at its national convention held at its secretariat in Abuja on Sunday, also ratified Princess Chichi Ojei, as its presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
Daily Trust reports that Princess Ojei, a prominent Delta State-born politician and administrator, is currently the only female presidential candidate from the 18 registered political parties that will contest the 2023 general elections.
In his acceptance speech, the National Chairman of APM, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, said the new national officers emerged in accordance with the party’s constitution.
He said the “forthcoming general election provides another opportunity to save the nation from clueless leadership. Our great party fielded credible candidates to contest various offices.”
“APM is the only political party that fielded a female presidential candidate in the country.”
