The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the 2023 polls, Prof Peter Umeadi, has nominated Comrade Abdullahi Muhammed Koli, a former labour leader, as his running mate.
This followed the June 17, deadline issued to political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the submission of names of presidential candidates and their running mates.

Umeadi, a professor of law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), once served as Chief Judge (CJ) of Anambra State for seven years.
The nomination of Koli as running mate was contained in a statement by Umeadi’s campaign organisation issued on Sunday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
According to the statement, Comrade Koli was chosen because of his discipline and commitment to the welfare of the masses over the years.
The statement reads in part: “Muhammed Koli is a frontline labour union activist and social crusader who has led many struggles for the welfare of Nigerian workers in his capacity as Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Bauchi State from 1999 to 2002.”
