The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, is leading in seven local government areas out of eleven LGAs of the state.
According to the official results declared at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) state Collation Centre in Gombe, the APC candidate polled 217,472 votes and leading in seven out of the eight LGAs so far declared.
Meanwhile, Usman Bayero Nafada of PDP who won in only Nafada LGA, scored 157,037 votes across the eight LGAs declared.
The state’s INEC Returning Officer, Professor Saminu Abdulrahman, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, has adjourned the collation to 4:00pm.
Our correspondent reports that Inuwa Yahaya of APC is leading with a margin of 90,435 votes from the eight out of the 11 LGAs, waiting for the results of Akko, Balanga and Dukku LGAs.
