The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Bomoi, as the winner of Yobe South Senatorial district in last Saturday’s National Assembly elections.
The returning officer, Professor Iwarere Taiwo Henry, of Federal University Gashua declared Bomoi winner having scored the highest votes cast.
Bomoi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won by a margin of 29,680 votes having polled a total of 118,729 votes against a serving Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator, Hassan Mohammed, that scored 89,049 votes.
Yobe South Senatorial seat was taken over from the APC by PDP during the 2015 general election.
