The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Initiative for Positive Change has commended the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase for his anti-corruption drive and initiative for the welfare of officers and the rank and file.
A statement jointly signed by Dalhatu Yusuf and Lukman Ibrahim, chairman and secretary of the association, respectively, said the commissioning of the first ever scholarship for 301 children of officers who died on active service and those that excelled in duty was remarkable.
“The IGP called for the psychological evaluation of police officers and men bearing arms to ensure safety of members of the public. Another important aspect is his open door policy which encourages information gathering and sharing among the force and other agencies,” the statement said.
The association urged President Muhammadu Buhari to extend office tenure of Arase for him to continue with his anti-corruption crusade and improvement of the force.
