All Progressives Congress youth assembly Taraba state has called on president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the party to be wary of nominating a non-party man from the state as minister in the forthcoming federal cabinet.
The youth assembly made its position known yesterday in a press conference in Abuja.
Speaking, national Publicity Secretary of the assembly Amb. Abdulsalam Sani Bali said it’s on record that after the appointment of late Senator Jumai Alhassan of as minister to represent the state in the federal government executive council, the two other ministers after her have not been members of APC.
He added that they’re imposed on Taraba people which account for why APC lost the 2019 and 2023 General elections in the state respectively.
According to him they will not tolerate the nomination of a non-party man as minister in the forthcoming federal cabinet, adding that “Doing that will amount to encouraging non-party men to indicate interest in appointive positions. At the same time, discouraging party men from working hard in future elections.”
They however appealed to the president-elect to beam his searchlight on a unique, cerebral individual and a party man to the core in the state.
