APC wants Osun poll video clip probed

Chairman of APC in Osun State, Prince GboyegaFamodun while addressing a press conference at the secretariat of the party in Osogbo, the state capital yesterday explained that the video clip was fabricated by some unscrupulous individuals to discredit the election.
He added that the video clip, which was brandished by the spokesperson of Jonathan Campaign Organization, Mr Femi FaniKayode, had nothing to do with the last August election in Osun State as the ballot papers shown in the video were different from the actual ballot papers used for Osun governorship election.
Famodun told journalists that the APC had earlier given the video clip to the Department of Security Services and the police with the hope that the security agencies would take appropriate action by apprehending and prosecuting the culprits since their faces were shown clearly in the video.
The APC chairman faulted FaniKayode’s claim that Osun election was rigged and wondered why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Senator IyiolaOmisore failed to tender the video clip at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal if they were sure of the authenticity of the video.
The party threatened that if the federal government and the National Assembly failed to constitute the independent panel of inquiry on the matter within the next two weeks, it would compel Osun State governor, Mr RaufAregbesola to set up the inquiry panel, adding that it would be mandatory for parties in the matter to appear before the panel.
Famodun disclosed the plan of APC to institute a libel suit against FaniKayode, insisting that the spokesperson of Jonathan Campaign Organization must explain where and how he got the video clips and defend his position in the matter before law court.
