The Sokoto State chapter of the APC has advised the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, to direct his energy to the provision of dividends of democracy and avoid creating unnecessary political tension in his state.
The APC was reacting to the governor’s recent comment on the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi.
Matawalle was reported to have alleged that former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and the minister attended the APC political rally in Bakura ahead of Satruday’s by-election to destabilise Zamfara State.
The APC Chairman in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Achida, said those who witnessed the Bakura rally would hardly be surprised by the governor’s reaction.
“Because of the intimidating crowd that openly displayed unequalled love for the APC and its candidate. He must have been blind by envy. Otherwise he should have known that the Honorable Minister of Police Affairs did not attend the Zamfara APC rally.
“While the event was holding, the minister was at the NTA International studio in Abuja running an interview. It is therefore obvious that the Honorable Minister could not be in Abuja and Bakura simultaneously,” he said.
