A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chapter, has called for urgent intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, among other personalities to intervene on crisis rocking the party in the state.
At a briefing in Lagos on Monday, the APC factional chairman, Fouad Oki said it has become expedient for elderly intervention as it appears that time is running out in remedying the situation.
“When family members are in conflict, is it not the responsibility of family members, especially the elders or those who care deeply about the well-being of the entire family, to make every attempt to solve the problem?
“The purpose of this letter is to invite the Chairman of the National Working Committee of APC and our revered father and President of the country as well as the Vice President of the country to urgently look into the crisis that has engulf the party irredeemably in Lagos State,” Oki said.
The APC chieftain said he is asking for the national leadership intervention because there is “so much bitterness and generalised resentment permeating the political environment in the state”.
In a related development, the APC national screening committee for Lagos State is currently meeting stakeholders at the State’s party Secretariat, Acme, Ikeja.
Journalists are currently laying siege within party’s secretariat premises for update.
It will be recalled that the state gubernatorial primary has been postponed three times in the last few days.
