APC revalidation: Plot to edge Yarima out thickens

An associate of former governor of Zamfara State, Ahmad Sani Yarima, has said there is a plot to edge Yarima out in the on-going revalidation and registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in state.

It was gathered that 72 hours after top shots of the party were singled out for revalidation, Yarima is still waiting to get his membership revalidated.

Speaking to Daily Trust on Monday, one of Yarima’s political allies, Junaidu Dosara, told our correspondent that Yarima is still waiting for officials to register him at his residence in Gusau, the state capital.

He alleged that when the registration materials arrived at the state capital, materials for the polling unit of the former governor in Bakura were removed, allegedly by those nursing grudges against him.

“When pressure was mounted on them, former governor Abdulaziz Yari intervened. However, those assigned to go and get the registration material for Yarima’s polling unit were nowhere to be found. And all efforts to get them proved abortive for they have switched off their phones,” Dosara said.

However, the vice chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Sani Gwamna Mayanchi, said Yarima should go to his polling unit in Bakura and be registered.

“He should go to his polling unit for registration as being done by everyone. Former governor Abdulaziz Yari did his in Talata Mafara local government so Yarima should not be an exception,” he added.
