Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Taraba Central has retained his seat, following the announcement of results of last Saturday’s National Assembly election in Taraba state by INEC.
He got 98,860 votes to defeat Dahiru Bako of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 93,074 votes.
Daily Trust reports that Taraba Central senatorial zone comprises of Gassol, Kurmi, Bali, Gashaka and Sardauna local government areas.
The result was declared by INEC returning officer in Bali, a town 230 kilometres away from Jalingo which is the headquarters of Taraba Central senatorial zone.
