Election materials and officials are yet to arrive at the polling centres for the rescheduled APC governorship primary election in Zamfara state despite mass turn out of people in some places, Daily Trust learnt.
The election was rescheduled to October 6th following the cancellation of the earlier exercise by the National Working Committee of the party after it was marred by violence and alleged voter intimidation.
In Gummi, Gusau, Anka local government areas and so many other places the election is yet to commence at the time of filing this report at 12:40 pm .
Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar Friday sounded a warning that the committee that conducted the botched Wednesday’s election should not be resent to the state after he accused them of bias and compromise.
Normal daily activities are ongoing throughout the state just as the Zamfara State Police Command assured members of the Public that adequate Security had been put in place to protect the lives and property of the good people state.
The Command’s spokesman SP Muhammad Shehu warned the citizens of the state to be law abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands.
“Any body found culpable will be arrested, and will be made to face the full wrath of the law. The command is appealing for continued support and cooperation of the public,” Shehu said in a statement.
