The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has filled the 6 vacant positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) and one zonal vacancy in the North Central.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the NWC meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja yesterday, the party’s national secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru said the vacancies were filled through election.
Recall that the 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC held on August 3, in Abuja, had picked a former governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Ajibola Bashiru as national chairman and secretary following the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore.
The NEC also transmitted its powers to the NWC to fill other vacancies in the NWC; the body, saddled with the responsibility of day-to-day running of the party.

The APC deputy national chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari and national women leader, Beta Edu were recently appointed ministers, one NWC members from the South East had died while others resigned.
Bashiru announced yesterday that Hon Ali Bukar Dalori from Borno State is the new Deputy National Chairman (North); Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad from Kaduna State (National Vice Chairman, North West); Prof. Abdul Karim Abubakar Kana from Nasarawa State (National Legal Adviser).
Others are, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa from Abia (National Welfare Secretary); Mary Alile Idele from Edo (National Women Leader); Duro Meseko from Kogi (Deputy National Publicity Secretary) and Ikani Shuaibu Okolo also from Kogi (Zonal Organising Secretary).
He said the party was putting in place strategies to win the off-season governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo states slated for November, adding that the party would soon constitute national campaign councils to assist state campaign team to win the states
