The governorship primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state started late on Thursday results would be expected much later in the night.
Accredited delegates were being ushered into the voting hall at about 4:30pm after screening at the gates of the Lafia City Hall along Shendam Raod, venue of the exercise.
The screening at the gates was taking longer hours, with anxious delegates expressing disappointment with the conduct of the exercise.
In Jos, Plateau state, the exercise was yet to start at 5 pm. The event was scheduled to start at 10 am.
Chairman of the APC House of Assembly and Governorship Primaries the state, Mr Sunny Moniedafe said it was mainly due a late entrant into the race by Dr. Selchang Maina. ”What is happening now is that we have a late joiner and he is trying to reach out to delegates, to canvass support and sell himself to them,” Moniedafe said.
The APC governorship primaries in Plateau state involve five aspirants. They include a Professor of Mathematics, Emmanuel Garba, an activist and prominent member of Arewa Elders Forum, Barr Solomon Dalung and a former speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Simon Lalong.
In Lagos state, the exercise began at about 2pm after two hours wait.
Some local governments delegates had casted their votes at about 3pm.
