Party members on Friday turned out enmasse at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary holding across the 34 local government areas of Katsina state.
As early as 8am, party members began to troop to their various wards to take part in the exercise which was rancour-free.
At most of the wards visited, men and women were seen brandishing their membership cards ahead of the commencement of the accreditation and registration of members.
Daily Trust observed that at some wards, the two exercise were going on simultaneously just as others who have undergone such processes were waiting to be counted.
The Chairman of Kudu III Ward, Usaini Tasi’u, expressed appreciation on the way and manner the exercise went noting that we have already given INEC and police the copies of the ward results.
Also feelers from other councils like Mashi, Dutsi Batagarawa indicated that most serving and office-seeking politicians took time to make a show during the exercise in order to secure votes ahead of their respective primaries.
Meanwhile, results are being collated at various local government party secretariats, as at the time of filling in this report.
