The All Progressive Congress (APC) just ended its national convention which produced consensus candidates that emerged as candidates to fill its National Working Committee (NWC) ahead of the nomination of candidates that will fly the party’s flag in the next general election in 2023. Although, a lot happened on the way out to elect the national chairman in which the president intervened by calling the founding fathers of the APC for a meeting on his preferred candidate, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, former Governor of Nasarawa State.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu has the capacity and experience to lead the party, but the internal democracy issues the party is facing if not properly managed, will cause the party to lose a lot of seats, including the presidential seat. In the first place, Senator Abdullahi Adamu should treat all party members with justice and fairness to avoid mass decamping ahead of the general election.

APC has a lot of presidential aspirants who are all qualified but most of them can’t win the election on the ballot. If APC decides to adopt consensus, well it will go well as far as justice will be done considering the capacity of the consensus candidate winning the election on the ballot.
The best candidate that can win the election on the ballot is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. None of the candidates have the capacity, maturity, and experience to lead the country more than Tinubu. He is competent enough both politically and administratively to govern Nigeria with his track record of transforming Lagos State from analogue to digital.
He was a key player in the ACN, ANPP, CPC, and APGA mergers which gave birth to APC. With his rich experience, commitment, dedication, honesty, humility, and patience, Tinubu is the right candidate for APC in 2023.
