The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State engaged in a war of words over who was responsible for the violence that occurred between supporters of the two political parties on Monday.
Party loyalists had clashed shortly after street rallies organized by the APC during which two people were injured while campaign billboards and vehicles were also damaged.
But spokesman of the APC governorship campaign council Samuel Aruwan had issued a state statement, saying the violence was the handiwork of miscreants sponsored by their opponents and maintained that APC supporters were orderly during campaigns.
However, chairman of the media committee of the PDP campaign organization Yakubu Lere released a statement blaming the APC for orchestrating the violence.
