APC, PDP structures have failed Nigerians – SDP Presidential candidate

Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has said the party would capitalise on the mistakes of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.

He said already the SDP has been learning from the APC mistakes, saying the much acclaimed structures of the ruling party and the PDP were not potent structures.

Adebayo stated this while fielding questions from newsmen after a Horse-walk which started from Ojota to Lagos Island in Lagos.

He stated that ahead of the general election in 2023, SDP will leave no stone unturned to deepen its structure to produce the next President.

The presidential candidate was represented by the party chairman in Lagos, Mrs. Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka.

He said, “As far as we are concerned, politicians or parties in power have no structure because if they have structure, we won’t be here. So, we are going to learn from their own mistakes to rebuild and restructure the structure they claim they already have.

“There is no structure anywhere, everything that is going on is about corruption, vote buying, ballot stealing, we have seen what happened in different states where elections have already taken place ,and then we are saying we want the people to be sensitised about this…”

He reiterated that the existing parties that claim to have structure have not made lives better for the citizens, saying the SDP was poised to change the narrative.

“It may look as if they are parties that do not have structure, but here is the narrative for me and there is caveat to that, we are going to build and we are learning from the existing structures.

“These structures are actually not structures because if they are proper structure, they will fix the system, the party is supposed to be in the know of everything that is going on in the nation as a ruling party. So when it comes to structure, we are organizing.”

He urged Nigerians not to sell their vote for money ahead of the election, adding that their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) is the pathway for them to exercise their franchise of voting for the candidate of their choices.

“We are kicking vote buying, we are asking that Nigerians should please go and get their PVC that is one step, when you get your PVC, please don’t sell your vote, if you sell your vote for N5000, just imagine, can N5000 sustain you for eight years?”
