He said the APC would win the Kogi Central zone with Engr Abubakar Sadiku Ohere as the candidate, adding that he would replicate his antecedents as governor in the senatorial zone.

The governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Abdulkareem Asuku said, “You have to show that you are in tune with the new direction because the APC is the party to beat in all the elections.

“We will better the situation of the state if you expand this forum to all the three senatorial zones in the state. And we need to queue behind the government of the day to ensure sustained peace and security of the state.”

In an interview with newsmen shortly after the event, the APC candidate for Kogi Central, Abubakar Ohere said, “It is an election and it is going to be competitive; a winner must emerge but we are thinking that we have a brighter chance than any other political party. We are not just a sitting government, we are serving a government that has performed. So we are comfortable.”
