He, however, said the lawmakers were being “economical with the truth” about the political impasse  in the state.
Fayose, who was reacting to Omirin’s declaration that their resumption at the Assembly would depend on assurance on their safety from the governor, said they would be safe if they return.
The governor said his duty is to ensure adequate security of lives and property of everybody in Ekiti, irrespective of political affiliations.
He said the lawmakers had nothing to fear, adding: “Good conscience fears no foe, you can be afraid when you know you are not doing the right thing.
“You know when we play politics we say all sorts of things, what they are saying is politics, it is not the truth. If I have gotten here by God’s grace, I am not going to do anything that will negate the office, they will remain my brothers and leaders of this state. I will continue to tell them that I am ready to work with them.  I am ready to welcome them to the state and to tell them that they are my brothers and ready to work with them.”
Traditional rulers in the state have promised to intervene in the Assembly impasse.
In a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting by the chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Adamo Babalola, they noted the frosty relationship between the legislature and the executive, adding that those concerned have taken the matter beyond the borders of the state.
